Water Management
Water suppliers are called upon to provide customers with an adequate
supply of safe drinking water that complies with stringent Safe Drinking
Water requirements at a reasonable cost. To meet these goals, IEQLG
provides complete life-cycle services,
from planning and the application of technology-based services through
plant operations and maintenance. IEQLG is an industry leader in water supply planning, providing watershed
management; filtration avoidance; and design and management of reservoirs,
dams, intakes, wellfields, and transmission and distribution systems.
The company develops treatment systems to control pathogens and for
the application of disinfectant chemicals and control of their by-products.
IEQLG is a national leader in developing
strategies to mitigate the production of biodegradable organic carbon
(BDOC) and assimilable organic carbon (AOC) from the disinfecting process.
Research into concentration time as it relates to various disinfectants
places the firm in a unique position to provide technology-based solutions
that assure safe and reliable public water supplies. IEQLG supports water suppliers in the areas of rate studies,
feasibility studies, revenue bond sales, operations management, corrosion
control studies, metering and collection programs, and coordination
with public utility commissions.

Industrial Water and Wastewater Treatment
Dependable wastewater treatment systems are necessary to protect the
African nation's waterways and drinking water supplies. Wastewater management
officials, however, face many obstacles, including budget constraints,
aging facilities, the shortage of properly trained operators, and the
need to meet administrative orders and consent decrees.
IEQLG professionals are experts
in state-of-the-art treatment processes, equipment, and operations and
maintenance. The company designs facilities to treat stormwater runoff
as well as sanitary wastes. Typical secondary treatment facility designs
include activated sludge plants, trickling filters, and pure-oxygen
activated sludge treatment facilities. Advanced treatment facilities
feature nitrification-denitrification, multimedia filtration, carbon
adsorption, two-stage plastic media trickling filtration, and land application.
In addition to surveys, design, and construction management, professionals
conduct infiltration/inflow studies, evaluate sewer systems, prepare
facility planning and financial feasibility reports, and conduct pilot
plant studies.

Environmental Sustainability
The environmental revolution has been almost three decades in the making,
and it has changed forever the way we think about our relationship with
the world around us. Progress has been made on the most fundamental
goals -- clean water, clean air, and healthy ecosystems -- but an enormous
challenge remains. That challenge is to develop sustainable communities
that can meet the needs of their current population without compromising
the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Environmental Permitting
Rapidly changing environmental regulations present a challenge to communities
and industries facing new development or infrastructure improvement
projects. IEQLG assists municipalities,
utilities, and industrial clients with all aspects of environmental
permitting, including interpreting regulations, preparing documentation,
acquiring and analyzing data, evaluating engineering options, conducting
modeling, completing complex permit applications, and negotiating with
regulators. IEQLG skilled biologists,
chemists, ecologists, engineers, and toxicologists will conduct in-depth
off- and on-site studies using field surveys, remote-operated vehicles,
automated sampling devices, and remote sensing such as infrared and
satellite photography. To interpret the data and determine permitting
and mitigation alternatives, IEQLG
uses 1-, 2-, and 3-dimensional air, water or groundwater modeling; GIS
analysis; and biological, physical, chemical and ecological analyses.
To support municipal, industrial, commercial, residential, and recreational
developments, IEQLG will negotiate
permits for wetlands, zoning, water quality, air quality, endangered
species, historic sites, and contaminant remediation, under Environmental
Statues and Laws and other Municipal and local regulations. For disposal
permits, IEQLG provides technical
input on effluent limits, industrial pretreatment, disinfectant residuals'
limits, mixing zones, stormwater management and monitoring programs.

Air Quality Services
Environmental regulations, especially for air, have never been more
complex than they are today. Issues such as applicability or regulations,
inclusion of operational limits and alternative scenarios have made
the task of operating, modifying, or building facilities more difficult.
Every phase of facility operations, from the planning stages for new
facilities, to the operations of batch and process manufacturing, require
a tailored, integrated approach to cost-effective air pollution control.
IEQLG has the experience needed
to address today's complex permitting and air quality assessment needs.
We are recognized experts in air pollution control, with an in-house
staff of engineers, scientists, technicians, computer specialists, and
regulatory authorities. Because we understand air pollution control
issues from beginning to end, our permitting services deliver added
value- the kind of value that translates into attainable permits, workable
compliance strategies including conditional "synthetic minor"
strategies and cost-efficient pollution control systems. These services
have been applied for industries including chemical and pharmaceutical
manufacturing, pulp and paper, surface coating, primary and secondary
metals, petroleum refining, food processing, and power generation.

Fugitive Emissions Services
Many industrial processes emit regulated air pollutants from fugitive
sources such as piping connections, valves, pressure release devices,
and pump and compressor seals. Although individual equipment and piping
components may emit only small quantities of these pollutants, the large
number of equipment components within any individual plant may comprise
a significant emission source. IEQLG
will provide full range of services necessary to identify, inventory,
collect, and control fugitive emissions, and establish leak detection
and repair (LDAR) programs. M&E uses two techniques for inventorying
components; tagging and identification by chemical process unit. The
component information is collected electronically and stored in a database,
which is relied upon for performing trend analysis and regulatory reporting.
Leak repair services and preventive maintenance is performed on components
detected to be leaking, reducing the possibility of permit violation
while enhancing the safety and efficiency of the facility. IEQLG's
technical specialists will design a proprietary data management system
for collecting, quantifying and reporting fugitive emissions. The system
will serve as both a regulatory compliance tool and a scheduling and
program management tool.
